Germany has disbursed only a fraction of special education infrastructure funds

Of the €1.2 billion earmarked for schools, childcare centres and research infrastructure, about €7 million has been disbursed so far. The Rheinische Post reported the figures from a finance ministry response to a Grünen inquiry.

The ministry cited late agreements between the federal and state governments and the need for states to implement them. Grünen politician Khan called the slow disbursement scandalous and urged that the missed investments be made as soon as possible.
