Thuringia sets new framework for private device use at secondary schools
Open post in TelegramThuringia is setting a new state-wide framework for private use of phones, tablets and smartwatches at secondary schools. Rules are also to vary by pupils’ age, with protection the priority through ninth grade, Education Minister Christian Tischner said. Private use remains banned at schools unless they expressly allow exceptions or teachers incorporate the devices into lessons. According to MDR, schools are expected to work out how to apply the rules during this school year, with the changes planned to take effect from 2027/28.
