Berlin’s proposed 2029 Tour de France start is expected to cost €50 million

The Berlin start and route through three other German states are projected to cost €50 million, up from €25 million most recently. The federal government, Berlin, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia are each expected to contribute one fifth.

Hofmann hopes to secure up to €10 million from sponsors, which would reduce the public contribution. The A.S.O. is likely to decide on the host in February and needs financial guarantees.
