Leipzig plans another €332 million deficit

After a deficit of €350 million by year-end, Leipzig plans another €332 million in losses.

Mayoral candidate Eric Recke warns that Leipzig will approach more than €3 billion in debt before 2030 and pay €100 million in annual interest.

If the draft budget is adopted as written, the new mayor, to be elected in February, will have little room for increased investment in roads, bridges, commercial areas and public transport.
