DVR backs phone-detection cameras and calls for higher fines
Open post in TelegramThe German Road Safety Council (DVR) backs phone-detection cameras and calls for fines for phone use at the wheel to rise to at least €500. Monocams can detect whether drivers are holding a mobile phone while driving, and trained police officers then assess the images.
During a test in Trier, detected phone use at the wheel fell by around 70 percent, the DVR said.
