Saxony needs more shelters for men

Saxony has four shelters for men with 14 places in total. Six more shelters are needed, according to Jana Peters of BFKM. Occupancy has almost doubled in four years, while capacity has remained unchanged.

Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) announced €19.1 million for 2027, with €20.4 million planned for 2028. The state parliament is due to decide on Wednesday on amending violence protection legislation to address men.
