Raids target suspected criminal organisation across three German states

Around 1,000 police officers took part in raids across Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate on Tuesday morning. Officers searched 82 residential and business premises and executed five arrest warrants.

Frankfurt prosecutors said there were 53 suspects in total. The operation targeted a suspected criminal organisation. Police seized firearms, gold bars and large amounts of cash.
