Munich plans autonomous electric bus service with passengers

An autonomous electric bus is set to carry passengers on Munich’s route 178. Trips between Petuelring and Freimanner Hölzl are planned from 17 November, Monday to Friday.

Safety staff will monitor the systems on board and take control in an emergency. The trial with passengers is scheduled to run until June. About 2,000 people have registered, according to Stadtwerke München.
