Chemnitz proposes larger discounts on fixed taxi fares

Chemnitz wants to allow discounts of up to 20 percent on fixed taxi fares, compared with the current maximum of five percent. The city council will decide on November 11, and the change could take effect four days later.

Passengers and companies must agree on the lower fare in advance; discounts are not automatic. For a reference fare of €20, a fixed fare of €16 could become possible, instead of the current minimum of €19.
