Three men jailed over illegal cigarette trading in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf’s regional court has sentenced three men to years in prison for large-scale illegal cigarette trading. The main defendant received seven and a half years, the others three years and three months and three years and ten months.

The court found that the trio resold over 150,000 cartons of illegally manufactured, untaxed cigarettes in 2025. The estimated tax loss is nearly €8 million. Investigators seized over ten million untaxed cigarettes during a raid.
