SPD reservations as Berlin coalition talks begin

Coalition talks have begun in Berlin between Linke, Grüne and SPD. Karl Lauterbach, Boris Pistorius and Franziska Giffey have signed an open letter opposing such a coalition.

Giffey supports involving SPD members through a membership vote. The national SPD cannot ban the coalition but is exerting increasing pressure.
