Lübbenau–Cottbus railway to close for a year

The railway between Lübbenau and Cottbus will be fully closed from 13 December 2026 to 11 December 2027. The closure is needed to expand the route to two tracks.

Replacement buses are planned for RE2 services on this section during construction. RE20 services are also set to be extended from Lübbenau via Calau to Cottbus.

The work aims to enable regional trains to run every half hour between Berlin and Cottbus.
