Cologne’s miniature barrier measures just 46 centimetres

A railway crossing in Cologne’s Weidenpesch district has a barrier just 46 centimetres long. It serves as a placeholder, explains KVB spokesman Stephan Anemüller.

A cycle path is among the plans for the road. Once it is built, the miniature barrier can be extended without major costs rather than requiring extensive changes to the crossing system, Anemüller says.
